Purpose of the Role
The Commissioning Supervisor is responsible for supervising all activities related to Cold and Hot testing, commissioning, and network testing of the Project. The role ensures that all milestones associated with Acceptance Tests Certification and Substantial Completion are successfully achieved. This position reports to the Site Project Manager and the Quality Management Team as part of the Owner’s staff.
Required Qualifications
– Engineering degree (mandatory).
– All candidates must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar PV and/or BESS construction projects.
– Upper-intermediate to advanced English level (B2–C1).
– Minimum 3 years of experience in construction or industrial commissioning roles, preferably within renewable energy or large infrastructure projects.
– Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and risk management frameworks. 10-hour course in prevention. OSHAS certification applicable to the performance of their duties.
– Knowledge of ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas) regulations is required.
– Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder coordination skills.
Key Responsibilities
– Supervision of pre-commissioning activities and testing protocols, including compliance with Mechanical Completion conditions.
– Review and comment the Energization Procedure and the LOTO Procedure as a prior activity for the Energization.
– Supervision of start-up activities and results achieved.
– Supervision of production and PR tests and their acceptance conditions.
– Preparation and review of the defect list or ‘punch list’ and follow-up of the corrections made by the main contractor until their acceptance.
– Drafting of the technical report prior to the acceptance of the work and acceptance of the Substantial Completion.
– Review of the final ‘As Built’ documentation.
– Supervision and delivery control of all operation and maintenance manuals.
– Supervise Cold and Hot testing activities of the project in accordance with the commissioning schedule.
– Oversee and validate all commissioning protocols, test records, and documentation from EPC and subcontractors.
– Ensure compliance with ERCOT regulatory requirements during all stages of commissioning.
– Coordinate and supervise all network performance tests, including grid interconnection and stability assessments.
